Within the first few days of October, Invader has placed yet another mosaic in his hometown (PA_1523 and PA_1524), continuing his streak of rapid invasion of Paris since the start of the Olympics.
Previously
Before this mosaic installation, Invader installed two mosaics, PA_1521 and PA_1522, in support of Paul Watson, an environmentalist defending sea wildlife arrested for ship trespass concerning an Interpol arrest warrant.
Currently
Usually, Invader would place multiple mosaics at once that have a theme. This time, Invader placed two mosaics, PA_1523 and PA_1524 respectively; each seemingly individual mosaic has no connection to one another. There is insufficient information on the message the artist is trying to convey, but it is most likely just a random Invasion in continuing his Global Space Invasion.

The squinting face mosaic is placed under the sign of the 1st arrondissement of Paris, depicting a round-shaped face with a yellow skin tone laughing with his eyes closed. This mosaic we believe is inspired by emojis. In addition, Invader’s Instagram and the past images of the mosaic both have a yellowish and dark tint background, implying that Invader probably installed PA_1523 at night. The design of this mosaic is not a novelty, as Invader had done similar works like this in the past.
PA_1524
PA_1524 is believed to be installed on the day after the installation of PA_1523 at the 2nd arrondissement. The black and white mosaic depicts one of Invader’s original character that is easily recognized by many on a pattern as the background. The use of color pattern as the background is often seen in Invader’s previous works, proving that is not the time the artist has experimented with this method.
