Tobey: Eminem’s newest song
Eminem has just released his second teaser track to his upcoming album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), which will be released on 12 July. The song, Tobey, features Eminem and 2 of his fellow Detroit rappers Big Sean and Babytron.
On 29 June, the teaser of Tobey is released 4 days prior to the release of music audio of Tobey. It is also revealed that the video by Cole Bennett will be released on 5 July, as teased on Eminem’s Twitter.
Tobey, the song's title, references Tobey Maguire, who was the first to play Spiderman in the 3 part movie series. It is also seen in the lyrics of the song such as “Tobey Maguire got bit by a spider, but see, me, it was a goat”, a profile picture change on Eminem’s Twitter to the Spiderman logo with a goat in the center, and the cover art of the song, which references the meme where Spidermen point at each other.
