Rubikcubism: The Different Subjects by Invader

Space Invaders


The initial inspiration, Space Invaders that made Invader start his urban art journey, made its way as Invader’s very first experiments working with Rubik’s Cubes. As shown below, its main goal is to show the original character in white by Invader in a manner on Rubik’s Cubes, with a random-colored pattern as the background. Later, it was frequently used in his work.

Classic Video Games


Similar to tile mosaics, Invader uses classic icons as his inspirations for his Rubikcubism work, such as Mario Bros and Pac-Man. All of these usage of the 80s characters pay homage to the video game itself, and evokes nostalgic essence in his art.
