Triple Trouble: The Art of Invader, Fairey and Hirst
Read More
Newsport Street Gallery, in association with HENI, presents Triple Trouble, a generational exhibition featuring three contemporary artists: Shepard Fairey, Damien Hirst, and Invader. In this blog, we will have a preview of the upcoming exhibition held from 10 October to 29 March 2026, diving deep into the art of the three artists’ collaboration.
The Subtle Preview
On July 17th, Damien Hirst posted on his social media. It was a teaser featuring a yellow poster with the name of the exhibition, “Triple Trouble”, and the three artists to be involved, Fairey, Hirst, and Invader. Apart from the artists, the associated galleries, Newport Street Gallery and HENI, were also included.
There wasn’t much information, but the hype had already started. Three pillars of modern art had come together for a potentially groundbreaking exhibition.
About a week ago, Invader placed three mosaics in Paris, namely PA_1550-1552. Specifically, we want to highlight the most recent mosaic, PA_1552, which features 4 red ceramic mosaic tiles with Shepard Fairey’s Obey Andre the Giant pop art in each of the 4 tiles, another teaser the upcoming exhibition.
Highlights
Individual works
Whether it is colored prints similar to the previous Cultivate Harmony Screen, or Diamond Flower Round posters by Shepard Fairey, or Invader’s collection of miniature toys. The spectrum of arts is showcased in the exhibition for all to enjoy.
Cherry Blossoms
Invader and Shepard Fairey’s Obey logo are overlaid on Damien Hirst’s cherry blossom work.
Pills
Damien Hirst's pill sculptures, particularly his iconic "Pharmacy" pieces, explore themes of life and death. In the exhibition, the collbaoration expands towards the two contemporary artists, with their logos carved on top of the white pills.
Cigarettes
Damien Hirst's exploration of cigarettes in his artwork explores themes of addiction, mortality, and the paradox of pleasure and harm. Combining it with one of Invader’s crypto mosaics exemplifies the ironic nature of the art piece.
Rubikcubism
Here is an art piece of the iconic Rubikcubism art style, pioneered by Invader. It features his two fellow artists, with Fairey on the left and Hirst on the right.
Underwater
Remember Invader's underwater project? It was when Invader teamed up with Taylor and associated with the Cancun Underwater Museum (MUSA) in 2012, and placed 3 underwater mosaics in Cancun Bay, Mexico. 13 years later, we have an image of three golden treasure pieces representing the artists with their iconic logos in a treasure chest buried underwater.
